My Approach
In both my personal and professional life, I have seen how traumatic experiences can shape self-worth and the way we navigate the world. My goal is to offer a calm, safe space where you can process your past in order to improve your present. I use a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens to help you identify and break patterns that no longer serve you, while building on your inherent strengths and resources.
My style is relational and trauma-informed, with a touch of humor. I don’t consider myself to be overly formal and believe laughter plays an essential part in healing from trauma. You are the expert of your own story, so I want you to feel as comfortable as possible when sharing it. I strive to be non-judgmental, gentle, and direct, creating an environment where you can feel supported while working toward meaningful change.
About Me
I am originally from Illinois but Minnesota has been my home for over a decade. I am a “theater kid” - started doing shows in high school and continued in college. I like to think it’s served me quite well in this field. I’m a huge animal lover and have two dogs, Joey (boxer mix) and Gus (lab/daschund mix). I love being outside, doing yoga and pilates, and playing RPG and open world videogames (mostly Xbox, occasionally PS5 and Nintendo Switch). I’m also a big Bravo TV fan.
Background
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Theatre Arts from Winona State University in 2016. I then worked as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) from 2016-2020. I completed my Master of Social Work degree through WSU’s Trauma-Informed Clinical Social Work program in 2020. I have been fully licensed an LICSW in 2022. I am trained in EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Post Induction Therapy.
