“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you — all of the expectations, all of the beliefs — and becoming who you are.” -Rachel Naomi Remen, MD

5 Words That Describe Me as a Therapist:
Genuine, empowering, caring, present, practical

My Approach
Whether you have extensive experience with energy work, sound, and yoga or none at all, I help you feel equipped and empowered in the process. I use a trauma-informed approach and meet you where you are at, creating a safe place for you to connect with your body and your energy. I have a passion for understanding things from both the Western and Eastern perspectives and for making things practical. I also believe knowledge is empowering. Because of this, you might hear me reference science, mention the chakras, or share analogies to help you understand the “why” behind what we do.

About Me
I have fun by binge-watching a cult documentary, heading outside, or having a thought-provoking conversation (digressions included). My favorite people for these are my three sons (all young adults).

After years of trying to “do it all, right away, perfectly,” I’ve learned to calm my mind and expectations by connecting to my body or hanging out with my dog (Miles) and cat (Willow) who love to cuddle.

Witty humor is my favorite, and might result in a laughing snort.

Background
I graduated from Luther College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a minor in Economics. I am certified as a Registered Yoga Teacher, Emotion Code Practitioner, Reiki II Practitioner, Group Fitness Instructor, and have training in the use of Sound as a tool for healing. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary’s University.
