5 Words That Describe Me as a Therapist
Authentic, trauma-informed, affirming, advocate, and curious

My Approach
In therapy, I prioritize learning about clients' lived experiences and how they are connected to multiple systems. I prioritize exploring family systems as well as broader, cultural systems. I believe that all people are affected by their environments, so focusing on systems is the foundation of my therapy approach.

Although the systems we live in affect our wellbeing, I believe that all people are inherently resilient and capable of creating a world that works for them. Thus, my main goal is to empower clients to make decisions that align with their values, aspirations, needs, and desires. All people are worthy of an existence that honors their individuality.

At the center of my approach is advocacy and empowerment for marginalized communities, including people who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, low-income, and more.

About Me
I consider myself a lifelong learner due to my inherent curiosity about people and the world. Activism, justice, and culturally-responsive care are key priorities in my professional and personal lives.

Also, I enjoy spending time with my primary partner and friends, especially when we have board game nights. I have a cute little menace of a cat named Lucy, and she brings me so much joy.

Background
I hold an associate marriage and family therapy license in the state of Minnesota. I received my master’s degree from Purdue University Northwest in 2020 in Child Development and Family Studies with a Concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my PhD from Texas Tech University in 2024 in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy.

I am Gottman level 2 certified, which entails specialized training in couple’s therapy.
