“The weight of the shame has kept us small and trapped in the belief that our bodies and our lives are mistakes. What an exhausting and disheartening way to live.” -Sonya Renee Taylor

5 Words That Describe Me as a Dietitian
Collaborative, Empathetic, Passionate, Authentic, Inclusive

My Approach
My approach begins with curiosity- with your permission, we’ll explore your current relationship with food and how it has evolved throughout your life. My goal is to increase trust in your ability to nourish yourself in a way that allows you to thrive in all areas of your life.  Nutrition is often misunderstood and I love to share my knowledge, but I will not tell you the perfect way to eat. Instead, I offer alternative perspectives and reflect on messages you have received around what is acceptable or “right” when it comes to nutrition, health, and body.  I work from an intersectional, social justice lens and will not shy away from discussing how systemic body oppression is often internalized.  I am anti-diet, gender-affirming, fat-positive, and Health At Every Size* aligned. I will always show up as the goofy, flawed human I am as we work to find peace and wellbeing for yourself rather than to meet societal expectations.

About Me
I am a huge nature lover and love to travel to learn/experience new things. I am also a big nerd about the horror genre and all things spooky! My garden, houseplants, and two cats bring me joy and comfort. In my free time, you’ll find me doing various things, depending on what hobby I’m hyperfocusing on at the time, whether it be thrifting, reading, playing a video game, being creative, or trying (once again) to teach myself the guitar.

Background
I received my Bachelors Degree in Nutrition Science and completed my dietetic internship at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. I have extensive experience working in eating disorder care but have also worked in other clinical settings including hospitals.
