Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

My Approach:

My hope is you’ll find a non-judgmental space to ensure that you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of criticism. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide guidance, support, and practical tools to help you navigate the challenges you may be facing.

I’m here to co-create a therapeutic experience that aligns with your goals and individual story. By embracing your individual strengths and values, I’m committed to helping you build a more fulfilling and authentic life.

My style comes from person-centered, narrative, and experiential therapies mixed with a more structured DBT background.

My Approach:

My hope is to offer you a safe, non-judgemental and curious place to talk about what you find most important. I believe in holding a flexible and collaborative space in order to create a culture of healing and hope.

I am passionate about working with adolescents (15+) and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relational issues, grief & loss and self-identity development. I utilize a person-centered approach that utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, narrative therapy and trauma-informed methods to increase awareness, challenge unhealthy thinking patterns and encourage healthy life boundaries. I believe in standing with social justice and cultural diversity and am a LGBTQIA allied provider.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child Advocacy Studies at Winona State University and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. I have worked in the human services field since 2014 in various different positions, which has allowed me to grow comfortable with a diverse set of diagnoses and skills. I have worked in home, in communities and within systems to better understand how interconnected mental health can be. I am trained in adherent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and independently licensed in Minnesota.

Katie Engh, MA, LPCC, DBTC

(she, her, hers)

Individual Therapist for Adults & Adolescents

My Approach:

Humans are resilient, but we are not wired to do life alone. There may be times that you need more support, unbiased feedback, or just a safe space to be your genuine self. Starting out with a new therapist or beginning therapy for the first time can feel scary, maybe even downright terrifying. I offer a laid-back place to show up as you are without judgement, talk about the hard stuff that we inevitably experience through life, and maybe have a laugh or two in the process.

I approach therapy as a collaboration. We are a team. You set the destination you want to get to, and I’m here to help you navigate. Described by a client before as “compassionately direct”, I strive to be a transparent supporter for you on your journey.

Sessions are structured in a way that you have a space to unload your stressors and explore your options. I want you to leave our sessions with a tangible step that you can take towards your personal goals. I integrate a variety of therapy approaches and techniques based on each client’s needs including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Experience & Education

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of MN. In addition to my license, I am also certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBTC).

I obtained my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Saint Thomas University in 2015. My practicum and supervision hours were completed doing DBT intensive outpatient group programming with adults and adolescents, as well as individual therapy.

I work with teens and adults addressing a variety of experiences including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, suicidality and self-harm, relationship challenges, domestic violence survivors, and life transitions.
