Lindsey Murphy, RYT 500
(she, her, hers)
Registered Yoga Teacher 500
My Approach:
I first came to yoga hoping to find relief from generalized anxiety and stress. I soon discovered that yoga not only helped manage my anxiety, but it completely changed my life. Through yoga, meditation and breath work I was able to quiet my mind and return to my body. As someone who has struggled with body image issues and disordered eating through-out my life, it was yoga that finally helped me create a mind-body connection that I never knew I needed. Through yoga I learned how to come home to myself and be present in my mind and body. This is a life long journey that never truly ends, but finding these tools and practices changed everything for me.
Passionate about the difference yoga made in my life, I want to use the practice of yoga to help others alleviate their stress and anxiety and teach them how to return to their bodies. I love teaching simple, yet effective practices that can be easily implemented in everyday life. I want to help people feel comfortable in their bodies and discover themselves and all they are capable of…on and off their yoga mat.
My Experience:
I graduated from Green Lotus Yoga and Healing Center’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program in 2012 and their 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training program in 2016. I am a RYT 500 Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. I am also a Reiki Master and completed my training at Green Lotus in 2015. I have continued to take new trainings and courses over the years and have a strong interest in breath work, mindfulness, meditation and trauma-informed communities.
I am trained to teach many styles of yoga, but my passion is teaching gentle and restorative practices that focus on slowing down and resting, with a strong emphasis on the mind-body connection. Along with traditional yoga poses and sequences, my classes may also include breathing exercises, guided visualizations and meditations, techniques for releasing tension and stress, practices to promote relaxation, yoga nidra, reiki, and tools to help create a mind-body connection. I gear my classes and workshops to meet the needs and goals of my students. Above all, my intention is to create a safe and nurturing space, whether teaching in person or online.
I believe that yoga can change the world, one breath, one moment and one person at a time.
